The officers and employees of Edward R. Reilly & Co., Inc. mourn the loss of our Chairman and esteemed colleague.

In his 61 years with the firm that bears his name, Ed was a mentor to two generations of adjusters, as well as being a significant resource to the insurance, reinsurance, legal & legislative communities. He was aptly described as one of the “deans” of the insurance claim business.

He was the past President of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters, the New York Association of Independent Adjuster’s, Inc, the International Institute of Loss Adjusters as well as being a long time member of the International Association of Claims Professionals and Loss Executives Association.

He graduated from the College of Holy Cross and received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. He served in the United Stated Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the destroyer escort, the USS Howard S. Crow (DE252).

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia, and by four children and five grandchildren.

Ed led a remarkable life and we will never forget him.
